FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Can I just come in for a quick adjustment?
We don’t offer walk-in or “quick adjustment” appointments for new patients. Every new patient begins with a comprehensive 2.5 hour appointment. This gives the doctor the time needed to understand what’s actually driving your symptoms and to begin restoring balance in a way that’s specific to your body. After you’ve completed the new patient process and become an established patient, whether a quick adjustment is appropriate really depends on your condition and what your body needs at that time.
What should I expect during my first appointment?
Your first visit is a comprehensive 2.5 hour appointment. During this in-depth appointment, the doctor will review your health history and specific concerns. From there, your appointment may include a combination–or all–of the following based on what your body needs: evaluating your musculoskeletal health, chiropractic adjustments, non-invasive food allergy testing, nutritional assessment, establishing your physical baseline, and discussing any specific goals or symptoms you’d like to address, whether that’s back pain, hormonal imbalances, digestive issues, or overall wellness. The appointment is very interactive, and the doctor will explain what they are finding, why it matters, and how your body is responding. Most patients leave the visit with a clearer understanding of what’s contributing to their symptoms and an understanding of how their body can begin moving back towards balance, based on what was found during the visit.
Why is the new patient appointment 2.5 hours?
Our new patient appointments are intentionally 2.5 hours because we don’t take a quick-fix or symptom-only approach. We believe your symptoms are often influenced by how different systems of the body are working together. To understand what your body is wanting and needing, we have to be able to look at the full picture, not just one piece of it. A longer visit gives the doctor time to understand your history, your goals, and the deeper patterns behind what you’re experiencing. Many of our patients come to us because they haven’t experienced this level of comprehensive, integrated attention in their healthcare before.
What conditions do you work with? Do you treat…?
We work with a wide range of health concerns, but we don’t diagnose or treat specific diseases. Instead, our focus is on understanding why your symptoms are showing up and helping your body return to a state of balance. Many of our patients have experienced positive results with issues such as pain, fatigue, digestive problems, hormonal imbalances, headaches, stress-related symptoms, etc. But our care isn’t limited to a list of conditions.
Do you offer nutritional guidance or lab testing?
Yes, both. Nutritional guidance and lab testing (bloodwork) are often used as part of a larger strategy to understand why your symptoms are occurring and how to bring your body back towards balance.
Do you work with children or athletes?
Yes! We regularly work with infants, children, teens, adults, and athletes. The evaluation and treatment methods are always adapted to each individual’s age, health, needs, and specific concerns.
Do you take insurance?
We are an out-of-network, cash based practice, so we do not bill insurance directly. However, we are able to accept HSA and FSA cards, and we can provide a detailed receipt “superbill” that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Coverage varies on your plan, so we always recommend checking with your provider about out-of-network chiropractor benefits.
