Soft Tissue Therapy

More than just an adjustment.

At DFW Holistic Health, chiropractic care isn’t just about the spine—it’s about the entire musculoskeletal system working together. That’s why we incorporate focused soft tissue therapy into our treatments to address muscle tension, fascial restrictions, and chronic pain patterns that adjustments alone can’t fully resolve.

This hands-on work includes trigger point therapy and myofascial release, targeted techniques that help restore muscle facilitation (strength) and  movement, reduce pain, and release tension at the source.

Why Soft Tissue Matters

Your muscles, fascia, tendons, and ligaments…your connective tissues, play a huge role in how your body moves and feels. When these tissues become stressed and damaged causing tightness, inflammation, restriction and pain, they can:

  • Cause mis-alignment of joints, referred pain (mimicking “radiating” pain)

  • Limit range of motion which can lead to more injuries

  • Make adjustments less effective or short-lived

  • Diminish effectiveness in workouts and training

By addressing soft tissue dysfunction directly, we help your body hold chiropractic corrections better and recover faster.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger points are tight, irritated “knots” in the muscle that can refer pain to other areas of the body. For example, a trigger point in your shoulder may cause pain in your neck or down your arm.

In trigger point therapy, we apply focused pressure to these areas to:

  • Reduce local and referred pain

  • Reduce adhesions in tissues

  • Improve blood flow, and reduce inflammation

  • Release muscle tension

  • Restore normal movement patterns, and neurologic function

Many patients feel immediate relief and better mobility after just a few sessions.

Myofascial Release

Fascia is the thin, web-like tissue that surrounds and connects every muscle, bone, and organ. When fascia becomes tight or “stuck,” it can cause stiffness, reduced circulation, and pain that’s hard to pinpoint.

With myofascial release, we use slow, sustained pressure to:

  • Break up adhesions and scar tissue

  • Improve flexibility and posture

  • Release long-held tension and trauma stored in the body

  • Enhance athletic recovery, performance and prevention of injuries

This is especially helpful for chronic pain, postural issues, and old injuries that haven’t fully healed.

Conditions We Commonly Treat with Soft Tissue Work:

  • Neck and back pain

  • Shoulder, hip, and knee dysfunction

  • Tension headaches and migraines

  • TMJ/jaw pain

  • Elbow and wrist pain

  • Foot and ankle dysfunction, like plantar fasciitis

  • Sports injuries and muscle strain

  • Postural imbalances

  • Repetitive strain injuries (like tech neck or desk posture)

  • If it’s tissue, we got you!

Why This Is Part of Your Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic isn’t just about bones—it’s about how your whole body moves and functions. Tight muscles and restricted fascia can block progress if they’re not addressed.

By combining adjustments with soft tissue therapy, we can:

  • Help your adjustments hold longer

  • Improve circulation and healing

  • Increase mobility and flexibility

  • Reduce pain at the root

  • Support long-term recovery and performance

Not just pain relief—functional recovery.

If your body feels stiff, stuck, or out of sync, soft tissue therapy may be what you’re missing. We’ll assess what your muscles and fascia are doing and integrate the right techniques into your care.
